Mission Statement
Eden’s mission is to deliver a warm, loving, inclusive education service in which the individuality of each child is respected, valued and celebrated.
Taking our lead from the child’s interest we guide them in exploring the learning environment and, most importantly, relationships with others.
These early experiences lay the foundation for future learning and should be as, nourishing and joyful as possible.
Operating since 2014 Eden’s mission is to deliver a warm, loving, inclusive education service in which the individuality of each child is respected, valued and celebrated.
At Eden being kind to each other is the most important lesson we will ever teach.
As the Maya Angelou famously stated:
At the end of the day people won’t remember what you said or did, but they will remember how you made them feel.
Learning Style
Montessori Method
Dr. Maria Montessori (1870-1952) has been one of the greatest influences in early childhood education. The first woman to graduate from the faculty of medicine of the University of Rome, she became interested in education when working with children with special needs. Through scientific observation of and working with children, she developed her own method of education. Influenced by the great educationalists Itard, and Seguin Montessori travelled the world establishing schools, lecturing, training in and promoting the Montessori Method.
We place particular emphasis on developing emotional intelligence. We recognise and honour the individuality of each child and strive to foster empathy towards each other. If laughter is the best medicine Eden is a centre of wellness. Given the right environment, seeds grow. At Eden, children flourish.
Curriculum & Activities
Eden delivers a blended programme of the State approved Aistear curriculum along with Montessori and Steiner influences and materials
The day follows a general routine using the Montessori materials & philosophy where the child chooses their own work and is encouraged to engage in the activity.
The room is equipped with Practical Life, sensorial, linguistic and mathematic materials. We provide sand and water play, art & craft materials, fine motor materials, singing and gym, and a library area where children can have a calm time. Weather permitting, we take excursions to the library and local park.
